One of the most unique things to do in Kakheti is take a bike tour that allows you to go off-road and literally through the vineyards!
The projects entitled “Sustainable Income Sources and Effective Social Integration of Persons with Disabilities and Socially Vulnerable Groups of Temi Community” is financed within the Polish Aid 2015 - Polish Development Cooperation Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The realisation of project started in March 2015 and is implemented in partnership with Gmina Pluznica Development Association and Temi Charitable Union. It is already second partnership project of Temi Community and Gmina Pluznica Development Association.
Project aims to support development of social entrepreneurship model in rural areas of Kakheti region through creation of culinary bike-route and opening summer restaurant in Temi; extend social and professional activation of Temi residents with the help of participation in the production and sales of regional products. The realisation of project represents means of financial stability of Temi
The project objectives is achieved by making 3 bike trails in Kvareli municipality through vineyards and villages; establishing bike rental places and service; opening fully summer restaurant; Fully equipment of summer restaurant and bike routes. Project is accompanied by the seminars and workshops about social entrepreneurship, tourism management, basics of Slow Food, marketing of local/regional/traditional products. Furthermore, study tour to Poland for Temi employees was organized which helped in transferring good practices and know-how in the mentioned fields.
